The Word Became Flesh

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:1–3
Before the dawn of time began,
Before the breath or form of man,
A voice rang out, distinct and heard:
In the beginning was the Word.
He stood with God, the distinct Son,
Yet in His essence, they were One.
No created thing, but Deity,
The Second of the Trinity.
[Chorus]
Through Him the galaxies were spun,
The moon, the earth, the rising sun;
Without His hand, no thing was made,
The foundation of the world was laid.
The Apostles wrote so we might see
The truth of His identity;
Though countless signs He surely wrought,
These seven miracles were taught.
They stand as pillars, strong and sufficed,
To prove that Jesus is the Christ.
He came to bear the Father’s will,
The Holy Justice to fulfill.
[Chorus]
Through Him the galaxies were spun,
The moon, the earth, the rising sun;
Without His hand, no thing was made,
The foundation of the world was laid.
He kept the Law in every part,
To heal the broken, sinful heart.
He paid the price we could not pay,
To wash our guilty stains away.
So if you have not bent the knee,
I pray the Spirit makes you see.
May eyes be opened to the claim,
To find true Life within His name.
[Bridge]
Surrender now, let faith arise,
The Messiah stands before your eyes.
Believe the Word, the God above,
And rest within His saving love.
[Chorus]
Through Him the galaxies were spun,
The moon, the earth, the rising sun;
Without His hand, no thing was made,
The foundation of the world was laid.
